Household, commercial and industrial waste transfer station?

You may need one of the below permits:

What are the constraints? (Based on SR2008No1)

  1. Not within 200 metres of a European Site or a SSSI

  2. Wastes Accepted - Only those listed in permit.

  3. a) all bulking, transfer or treatment of waste shall be carried out inside a building;
    b) all waste shall be stored in a building or within a secure container;
    c) all waste shall be stored and treated on an impermeable surface with sealed drainage system

Which Activities?

D15: Storage pending any of the operations numbered D1 to D14 (excluding temporary storage, pending collection, on the site where it is
produced) Treatment consisting only of manual sorting or manual separation of waste into different components for disposal, (no more than 50 tonnes per day) or recovery.

R13: Storage of wastes pending any of the operations numbered R1 to R12 (excluding temporary storage, pending collection, on the site where it is produced) D14: Repackaging prior to submission to any of the operations numbered D1 to 13. No more than a total of 50 tonnes of intact and shredded waste vehicle tyres (waste codes 16 01 03 and 19 12 04) shall be stored at the site.

D9: Physico-chemical treatment not specified elsewhere in Annex IIA which results in final compounds or mixtures which are discarded by means of any of the operations numbered D1 to D8 and D10 to D12

R3: Recycling/reclamation of organic substances which are not used as solvents

R4: Recycling/reclamation of metals and metal compounds

R5: Recycling/reclamation of other inorganic material (you may need a composting permit for this)
