What are the constraints of an asbestos waste transfer station permit? (Based on SR2008No9)
The total quantity of waste accepted at the site shall be less than 3,650 tonnes a year.
Wastes Accepted - Only those listed in permit.
1. Asbestos waste shall be stored on
an impermeable surface with sealed drainage system.
2. Asbestos waste shall be double bagged and kept
within clearly identified, segregated, secure,
lockable containers on an impermeable surface with
sealed drainage system.
Which Activities on an asbestos waste transfer station?
D15: Storage pending any of the operations numbered D1 to D14 (excluding temporary storage, pending collection, on the site where it is produced) The maximum quantity of asbestos waste received at the site shall not exceed 10 tonnes per day. The maximum quantity of asbestos waste stored at the site shall not exceed 10 tonnes. There shall be no treatment of asbestos waste.
D14: Repackaging prior to submission to any of the operations numbered D1 to 13
